READ THE INTERVIEW:
What is your favorite room in the house?
My bedroom is my current favourite room! I’ve just refreshed the space and have brought lots of spring into the room.

Why is this your favourite room?
I love the vibrant colours – it makes me feel positive which is just what we need during this period. It’s such a nice space to wake up to. It really sets my mood right for the day ahead and it’s super pretty to look at.

How have you decorated it? I.e what style?
I’ve gone for an urban modern vibe but had fun playing with colour and prints. I conjured up most of the style from my head and just played around a little. I bought this amazing throw from made.com having been inspired after seeing it on Emma Jane Palin’s instagram. I’ve gone for vibrant prints, blush pinks, yellows and lots of texture. I have a really vibrant colourful personality (as seen on my Instagram) so I’ve created a room to match!
Is there anything in this room that you are particularly proud of?
I love this framed illustration – it’s a self portrait by an amazing Black artist called @line_and_honey It’s actually an illo of a photograph taken just before I was let go from my job. I took the photograph in my garden and remember feeling so good about myself. I remember that day so well because simultaneously just before I was let go, I applied for another job which I ended up getting and working till I become freelance. The illustration is just a reminder of all the hard work I’ve put into the career I have now. It’s such a beautiful simple design that holds such personal sentiment.

How have you been using this room during self-isolation?
Sleeping! Lots of sleeping.
Honestly making sure I’m getting a goods night rest has been really important. My anxiety has been going through the roof and resting really helps so it’s really nice to have a place that brings me peace whilst also makes me feel good to retreat to. My favourite time of the day is getting into bed, lighting candles and sticking on a film. If anything it means I have an early night time routine and not working till 12am like I usually do. I’ve never been more excited to tuck into bed.

One word to describe how this room makes you feel today?
Positivity & hope.
